Lisa Spector is a concert pianist, Juilliard graduate, and canine music expert. As a concert pianist, Lisa has won first prizes in the New York and Los Angeles Chopin Competitions and has performed in China, Poland, Spain, France, Italy and throughout the U.S. She has appeared as guest soloist with the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra, Aspen Symphony, the Queens Philharmonic, and the Romania National Symphony.
By combining her passion for music with her love of dogs, she co-founded Through a Dog’s Ear, the first music clinically demonstrated to relieve canine anxiety issues. As pianist on the Through a Dog’s Ear music series, she has appeared on the CBS Early Show and Martha Stewart Living Radio. Her recordings are helping calm dogs worldwide in animal shelters, rescue organizations, veterinary hospitals, and dog loving homes. The inaugural Through a Dog’s Ear album, Music to Calm Your Canine Companion, reached Billboard’s Classical Top 20 Chart.
Lisa resides in Half Moon Bay, California, a coastal town south of San Francisco. She shares her home and her heart with two “career change” Labradors from Guide Dogs for the Blind, Sanchez and Gina. She is actively involved with Gina in dog agility trials and training, and is a Zumba enthusiast.
